Somehwere Over The Rainbow

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was a children's novel written by Lyman Frank Baum more than 100 years ago. The wonder thing is the positive message of self-improvement that the story has, where each character searches something that lacks.
  • Dorothy: searches the return to her home. His searching is resolute and with determination, without weakness nor thinness despite of her fears and dreads.
  • Toto: protects and help his owner. Like any dog bravely and tenderly joins his owner in all the situations she lives, always with joy and hope, being a permanent support and comfort.
  • The scarecrow: searches for a brain. However, he shows intelligence during the trip by bringing in ideas to overcome the obstacles and learn from the mistakes. Without realizing it, maybe by confusing his little instruction with small intellect, he incorporates knowledges, reveals common sense and strengthens himself, leaving behind all the fragility of his appearance.
  • The tin man: searches for a heart. After loosing all his body by metal parts, he believed that had lost his ability to love. Nevertheless, he shows compassion and kindness with his request partners and embodies, despite being of cold metal, emotions and feelings of great sensibility.
  • The lion: searches for courage. Coward of all living beings, and afraid of getting hurt, he keeps them away. But, without remembering or taking into consideration his cowardice, he's capable to fight to protect his territory or protect and save his yellow brick road partners.
Characters shows us that is in each one of us to cultivate the willpower, the wisdom and the love because we have confidence enough to fulfil our dreams.

The most famous song from the 1939's movie performed by Judy Garland is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", that won the Oscar for Best Original Song, also goes with the positive message about searching the achievement of the ones's owns dreams. According to the performer owns words: “As for my feelings toward "Over the Rainbow", it's become part of my life. It is so symbolic of all dreams and wishes that I'm sure that's why people sometimes get tears in their eyes when they hear it.”

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?
